A faith-based foundation helping vulnerable children and youth access opportunities, develop their potential and build a better future.
Our story
BIF grew from a simple desire to give back
1
The beginning
A simple desire to give back
While living and working in the Kigeme area of Nyamagabe District, Alexandre Rekeraho came closer to the realities of children whose education and future were being affected by poverty and difficult circumstances.
2
First steps
Supporting children with what he had
Having personally experienced how educational support can change a person's life, he began supporting children with the resources available to him.
3
2020
The initiative becomes organized
With the support of Peace Mutoni, his fiancée at the time and now his wife, the initiative became more organized through school-material support, advocacy, mentorship and encouragement.

Dr. Alexandre Rekeraho is the Founder and Council Chairperson of Blessed to Impact Foundation (BIF). He is a cybersecurity professional and researcher currently based in Warsaw, Poland. He holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. His professional journey has taken him from working in Rwanda to studying and building his career in Europe. But the story behind BIF is much more personal. Growing up in Rwanda, Alexandre experienced some of the challenges faced by children from families with limited resources. Through sponsorship from Compassion International, he received support that helped him continue his education and develop leadership skills. That experience showed him at a young age how much a child’s life can change when someone chooses to believe in them and invest in their future. From 2017 to 2019, while working at Kigeme District Hospital in Nyamagabe, Alexandre had the opportunity to live and work closely within the community, where he witnessed firsthand the hardships faced by many children and young people. He saw children dropping out of school because their families could not afford to keep them there, and others who were not attending school at all. For many families, poverty meant that even basic educational needs could stand between a child and their future. Seeing this reminded Alexandre of his own journey and how different his life might have been without someone choosing to support him. He began helping children where he could. What started as a personal desire to help gradually grew into something bigger: a vision to reach more children and give them the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to move forward. As a Christian, Alexandre believes that the opportunities and support he received were not meant to end with him. Through BIF, he wants to pass that blessing forward—to show children love, help them overcome the barriers created by poverty, encourage them to discover their potential, and give them hope for a better future while sharing the love and hope found in Jesus Christ. Why BIF Matters to Me “Someone once believed in me and invested in my future. That support helped me stay in school, develop as a leader, and become who I am today. Years later, when I saw children in Kigeme missing school or dropping out because their families could not afford it, I saw part of my own story in them. Through Blessed to Impact Foundation, I want to pass forward the opportunity I was once given and help another child believe that a different future is possible.
Peace has supported the initiative from its earliest days, helping it become more organized in 2020 through school-material support, advocacy, mentorship and encouragement.
